Sinhagad Road is in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The town derives its name from the Sinhagad fort, which is only a stone's throw away.

Malik Ambar, a Prime Minister of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate, built it in the 17th century. Later, the Marathas captured it and turned it into an attack base during their war against the Mughal Empire. The Mughals eventually recaptured the fort and destroyed it during their rule.
