Since it was set up in 1948, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has been at the forefront of housing development in Maharashtra. The amenities ranged from clean water to sanitary facilities and enough lighting. The Act of 1976 set up the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), which ensures these policies are followed all over Maharashtra.
