I stayed for a short time in Kandivali West and found the surroundings friendly and useful. Daily commute was made simple by Kandivali station's local trains. Commutes were reduced by roads like Link Road and the Western Express Highway. Weekend strolls nearby Sanjay Gandhi National Park and little local parks appealed to me. With malls, markets, and local stores close at hand, shopping was easy. Good schools, restaurants, and friendly nearby vendors made life really pleasant. Accessible were Kandivali and nearby Goregaon offices and commercial hubs. Close by several multispeciality hospitals and clinics ensured dependable healthcare. The area struck me as grounded and secure. The fast fusion of city convenience and natural surroundings was my best feature. Parking and traffic management during peak hours required some work.

Kandivali West is a lovely, seasoned area with a real community feel not found everywhere in Mumbai. Excellent safety precautions including police patrols and bright street illumination have me very comfortable. The fantastic shopping and entertainment access, especially near Mahavir Nagar and Raghuleela Mall, where everything is only minutes away, is my favorite feature. For daily travels, the linking through S.V. Road, Link Road, and Kandivali station is excellent. Filled with excellent hospitals and schools, the neighborhood is quite family-friendly. But the heavy traffic congestion at major intersections during rush hour, which can impede all else, absolutely begs consideration. I highly recommended this area to living.

Also, the development of numerous residential projects has completely transformed the neighbourhood in the recent years. Of course, crowds, congestion, and high pollution are some factors that should be highlighted in terms of the issues. Yet, access and social infrastructure make it one of the top places to live in, if you do not want to pay a huge amount for your home.

Kandivali West ticks almost all the boxes that I can think of. Of course, the metro station is nearby, while the railway station is also pretty accessible. Another plus point is that the housing options are widely available here. I’m so happy that my extended family members could also invest in mid-range and affordable homes here, a little after we moved in. Many good residential societies are also present here, while social amenities are also readily available nearby.

One issue that I can highlight in this regard, is how there is increasing traffic congestion during the peak hours. This should be planned and fixed by the civic authorities.

I will personally give full marks to Kandivali West. This locality is excellent for staying in Mumbai without compromising on your budget. The metro station access is there, along with quick connections to the Western Express Highway and the Link Road. This makes commuting so easy, while the railway station is also present here. I feel that connectivity-wise, it is one of the top destinations, since the prices are affordable in comparison to several other so-called posh Mumbai localities. All the necessary social infrastructure is there within a short distance as well. The only problem I have faced here is the waterlogging during the monsoons.

Raghuleela Mall and many other shopping centers can be accessed within just 10-15 minutes from the neighborhood. However, waterlogging is one of the biggest issues faced by people here, followed by traffic jams. Otherwise, the area is developing into a coveted residential location.

Positives: I believe that this region is one of the top locales of the Western Suburbs, with relatively modest rents compared to its neighbors. I believe its accessibility is great through the nearby railway and broad streets such as the Western Express Highway. I noticed that the region is very vibrant during nighttime, has excellent social amenities with numerous schools and hospitals, and overall is extremely safe because of frequent police patrols.

Negatives: I must add that insufficient public transport beyond the main road network causes great inconvenience. I found that waterlogging is a big problem during monsoon season. We have fantastic rail connectivity on the Western Line and convenient access to both the Western Express Highway as well as the soon-to-be-launched Metro Line 2A, making traveling so much quicker, particularly towards BKC, Andheri, and Goregaon for office. The availability of Kamala Vihar Jogger's Park and being in close proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park provides essential green cover, while basic social facilities such as Raghuleela Mall, premium schools, and Shivam Hospital are also in the vicinity. Nonetheless, though the locality is well illuminated, the locals often complain about chain snatching, and we have water logging during the rainy season that requires improved drainage.

Kandivali West is where I have been staying for quite some time now. And I can safely tell you that it is a very safe locality. I come back from my office many times at night, and it is as peaceful and secure as can be. So that’s a major plus point. At the same time, my workplace in Powai is less than 40 minutes away through the JVLR. This is our main connectivity lifeline, and there are many other connectivity advantages, like the railway network. The entire Andheri stretch is also easily accessible, along with all the amenities in these places.

This part of the locality does not have a lot of green cover, unlike the eastern half of the area, which is closer to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

Kandivali West is a good place to live in, considering its strategic location. So, for starters, I am a frequent visitor to the Infiniti Mall in Malad West. It is just 9-10 minutes away from my home in Kandivali West by car. This is a major advantage for me, since I am more of the shopping mall type who prefers lounging around. Also, the Marve Beach is about 17-20 minutes away from the locality. This is a good place to relax and watch the sunset each day. My workplace in Goregaon is also pretty accessible from Kandivali West. So, everything is sorted for me, at least.

The region providing excellent value for money when compared with other Western Suburbs, and the infrastructure is highly developed with great hospitals and educational institutions in proximity. The proximity of the Kandivali Railway Station and future metro routes makes travel convenient, while the overall civic social infrastructure hums with shopping centers and nightlife. The only single big plus for civic development in the future that requires attention is the safety perception of residents, which needs to be improved through more security and regular police patrols.

I enjoy the blend of the old neighborhood and new skyscrapers. Small parks and even close proximity to green areas along the north edge are available. My daily requirements are easy to fulfill.

Negatives Nevertheless, I desire improved water supply reliability, tidier public areas and better waste management. These three improvements would make staying here even better.

The connectivity is the biggest plus point; being near the railway station and having access to both Link Road as well as SV Road, commuting becomes efficient, and the property price seemed okay for Mumbai. I like the value for money and solid community feel. But we badly need the authorities to resolve the heavy traffic jams close to the major intersections in peak hours. It is the biggest sore point here.

Then the shopping malls- Growels and all are there, along with good schools, hospitals- it has everything that a family will need and that too at a fair price, in my opinion. I also like the fact that people here celebrate together and are helpful.

The road deteriorates after the monsoon every year, especially the 2-3 approach roads, but it can be improved by the authorities if they want.

I have always loved staying in this neighbourhood, and I had to move to another city. The property rates were affordable compared to many other Mumbai areas. The best part is that everything was within walking distance of my home. The markets were only 4-5 minutes away, along with local restaurants, ATMs, clinics, and even grocery stores. Also, many malls came up here at the height of the Mumbai retail boom. The metro station here is a good development, which happened just before I had to shift.

See, the only thing I can highlight in terms of a negative experience is the poor road conditions. Every time I used to see the authorities taking a long time to dig the roads. Parking is also an issue at many places.

However, two things that I wish to highlight are the poor road conditions after every monsoon, and also the lack of parking spaces in many places.

Positives: I liked how conveniently connected the location was the railway station, Western Express Highway, Link Road, etc brought me to work and friends quite easily. There were a lot of schools around: Swami Vivekananda International, Thakur International etc. Plenty of mall, Raghuleela Mall, Akruti Shopping Centre, and Reliance Trends made relaxed weekends easy. Negatives: Waterlogging during monsoons would flood many roads and make daily travelling a hassle. Noise and traffic jams were also poor, particularly along major roads and highway intersections. Some streets were not well cleaned. Safety at night was a concern in some pockets, and although there were plenty of amenities, last-mile movement would sometimes involve long walks or waiting.

Positives: I shifted into a small 1BHK close to Kandivali station two years back, and I find life here very practical. Kandivali West is on the Western railway line, and travelling by local train is convenient. Also, New Link Road and the Western Express Highway provide quick road connectivity. Some disadvantages of the location are that I found, rush-hour trains and station commuters are extremely crowded, main roads become choked, and parking is scarce in older areas. Also, low-lying lanes can waterlog during heavy monsoons.

Negatives: Traffic is completely horrible during rush hours, bringing everything to a crawl. Also, the monsoon season waterlogging is a nightmare and causes huge problems on the roads. Also, there are periodic reports of safety issues such as chain snatching in certain places, so one must be careful, especially in the evening.

Positives: This neighborhood is totally worth five stars. Connectivity is actually what makes life so convenient. We have the local train station at Kandivali, the Charkop metro station just nearby, and easy access to the Western Express Highway and Link Road. All you could possibly want is here: great schools, good hospitals, and great local markets, all the large malls and cinema halls to boot. We have such a lively, mixed community here, and in comparison to South Mumbai. Negatives: It's just a fantastic, vibrant community that has everything that a family requires for good living. If I must choose one minus point, it would be traffic jam and parking.

The roads are good, and there are busy local markets with all the shops one needs. Negatives: On the negative side, traffic can be infuriating in rush hour, especially around the major junctions. It's a good place to call home, safe and workable, but if you like it quiet and up-to-date, it can feel a bit hectic at times.

Positives: Having stayed here in this area was a fairly good experience for me. The highlight was the way self-contained the area felt; all from routine shopping to good hospitals was a short walk away. Travelling to work was also a cakewalk. The local railway station was always a safe bet, and being just around the corner from the Thane-Belapur Road made it so convenient to reach my workplace at the Millennium Business Park. Negatives: The traffic was a real pain, but what really irked me was illegal parking on each and every street, so it wasn't easy to walk around. And during the monsoon, the waterlogging was a nightmare. I also had some pollution from the surrounding industrial zones, which was a real negative for me.

The railway station is just a step away, and with the Western Express Highway right beside you, commuting is never a problem. You have everything here, be it good schools for the children to markets and malls like Growels 101. It is a total package. Negatives: My one worry is with how much population is coming in now. It does make some areas feel a bit too populated, but I guess that's something to look forward to in a good place to live.

The residential compounds are generally new, and I have plenty of choices for both customers and investors. Negatives: There are still some areas with lots of old buildings that require renovation, but with the new construction. Overall, I believe the atmosphere is certainly getting better and better each day.

I also hope parks are kept neater and parking closer to marketplaces is simpler.

Kamala Vihar Park is convenient for walking in the evenings. Negatives: But rush-hour traffic is worst, the monsoon causes waterlogging, and some of the parks are filthy. Safety concerns such as chain snatching exist, and parking spaces are usually congested.

Positives: I like how cheap Kandivali West is and how well it's connected with the road as well as the rail. I'm safe here with good illumination and police patrolling. The place has excellent schools, hospitals, and parks. Negatives: I have observed that the parks are not very clean. There is also waterlogging during monsoons. I would like to see improved public transport.
