Bengaluru to Get 40 km More Tunnel Roads and 44 km Double-Decker Roadway

The Karnataka government is investing over Rs 1.5 lakh crore to improve mobility infrastructure in Bengaluru. This includes plans for 40 km of additional tunnel roads and a 44 km double-decker roadway. These projects aim to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity, especially for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

Karnataka has modified its land allotment policy to secure a Rs 3,600 crore semiconductor project by California-based Applied Materials. The company will be allotted 140 acres at the Bengaluru Signature Business Park (BSBP) near Kempegowda International Airport for an R&D and ecosystem development project.

Bengaluru Infrastructure Boost: Budget Allocations, and Project Plans

Bengaluru is set to receive a significant infrastructure boost through various initiatives. The Karnataka Budget 2026 has allocated ₹7,000 crore annually for Bengaluru's infrastructure and civic projects. Key projects include a ₹40,000 crore tunnel road network, expansion of the Namma Metro by 41 km, upgrades to the Outer Ring Road, and plans for a second airport to improve connectivity.

During Q4'2025, average property prices for Pranith Enclave moved from ₹ 5,650/sqft to ₹ 5,700/sqft, reflecting a 0.88% rise.

Following resident complaints and media attention, Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) engineers inspected Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout to address issues of poor roads, drainage, and missing infrastructure. Site allottees have been hesitant to build due to the lack of amenities, and existing residents face difficulties during rains due to slushy roads.
