Positives: Seeing this area develop without losing its communal atmosphere is such a blessing. Being close to great colleges like Cummins and MIT, and good local hospitals like Shashwat, means that everything my family requires is always nearby. The easy access to Paud Road and the easy drive to the new Vanaz Metro station keep us well placed without being in the midst of the city mayhem. It's actually a well-crafted, secure, and family-oriented community. Negatives: Yet the popularity has its costs. The traffic jam, particularly around the main market areas during rush hours, is really infuriating; it will take a good 15 minutes longer for short local journeys. Also, with so many new residential towers being constructed, we are always subjected to construction noise and dust in and around the neighborhood.

Nice schools and colleges, proximity to multiple hospitals, local shops and gyms make life convenient; JVA Mall and tidy restaurants nearby, buses are ever-present for local commutes. The nearest planned or operational stations require a short commute. Even airport access is around 16–19 km, depending on the direction. Otherwise, it's peaceful, secure and family-oriented.

Karve Nagar ticks all the boxes for me, since the major Pune-Bangalore and Pune-Mumbai highways are easy to access from the locality. At the same time, there are several educational institutions nearby, while it’s a quaint zone for exploring several key attractions. I personally love the very interestingly-designed Joshi Museum of Miniature Railways in the vicinity, along with the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden. I love taking walks here from time to time. Yes, more public transport is needed, while traffic jams also happened during peak hours. But if you put all this aside, there is still scope for living a happy and peaceful life in this neighbourhood.

I walk home late and feel extremely secure, and the entire area has that special, settled, family-oriented character that is hard to find in Pune. It's an educational hub with plenty of green and parks, with fantastic 2BHK rental value for individuals like me, and the new metro connectivity can only add to our already formidable central position. But I have noted two main problems: parking on the street is very much restricted, which is a perpetual irritation, and water supply can be inconsistent, which is a big infrastructure shortage. I wonder why Karve Nagar is so under-appreciated. I have been living here for some time now, and I can tell you how nice the place appears to me. There are several institutions like the MIT Engineering College, Cummins College, and Bharati Vidyapeeth, while many hospitals are also situated in the locality. There are moderately priced options, while the Mumbai Bypass goes right next to the neighbourhood, thereby ensuring excellent connectivity to several parts of the city. Yes, there is traffic congestion near the highway approach, and a lack of recreational facilities, but those will be developed in the future.

Positives: I absolutely love the years that I lived in Karve Nagar. It was more like a quiet, established suburb of the city and less like a crowded city suburb, full of a fantastic community spirit. My family enjoyed the very easy accessibility to everything, from the elite Cummins College and state-of-the-art facilities such as Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, to the several park areas that provided a tranquil retreat. The connectivity was great, particularly with the recently opened metro line close by and major roads such as Karve Road connecting us within no time to Kothrud and Deccan Gymkhana. It was a great area to bring up a family, but I always believed that the authorities badly needed to address the recurring problem of summer water scarcity.

This area has that special "Old Pune" feel with its quiet lanes and neighborhood community atmosphere, which is irreplaceable. The access to Deccan and Kothrud is smooth through Paud Road, so city living is very convenient.
