Matunga doesn't only have a multiethnic population but also has various cultural centers of its population. For the Tamil Brahmins, it has South Indian temples and restaurants. 

For Parsi people, it offers Irani styles cafes and for Hindus, Muslims, and Christians it has temples, a mosque, and an old church respectively.
