Central Kolkata is well connected to North, East and South Kolkata through a network of major roads and also through the metro railway network. The light train network from Joka till Esplanade is a major infrastructural development and another network will soon be operational till Moulali from Esplanade. The development of the Park Circus Flyover has been a shot in the arm for Central Kolkata and major places here include Sealdah, Esplanade, Jorabagan, Beliaghata, Chingrihata, Bowbazar, Tangra and . Central Kolkata offers great connectivity to all parts of Kolkata through the state and private bus network as well. Other areas include Entally and Taltala. Central Avenue is a major thoroughfare in this stretch along with the NS Road and offshoots like the Brabourne Road, Canning Street, Sealdah Flyover, MG Road and Strand Road. The S.N. Banerjee Road, AJC Bose Road, Lenin Sarani and Bentinck Street are major thoroughfares in this stretch.
