Talegaon-Chakan Elevated Corridor Work Begins, Aiming to Ease Congestion

Construction has commenced on the 26.30 km Talegaon-Chakan elevated corridor, a part of the larger Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur highway project. This ₹6,150 crore initiative, targeted for completion by January 2027, is expected to alleviate approximately 50% of the existing traffic congestion in Pune's industrial belt.

This project, to be built under the DBFOT model, aims to ease congestion and improve road conditions on the Pune-Shirur route, ultimately connecting to the Samruddhi Highway. Minimal land acquisition is expected as the corridor will run alongside the existing highway.
