Thane-Borivali Twin Tunnel Project: Traffic Diversions Announced in Kasarvadavali

Temporary traffic diversions have been implemented in Kasarvadavali for the ongoing work on the ambitious Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Certain routes will be closed from July 6 to August 5, 2026, to facilitate construction.

Thane to Get India's Tallest Viewing Tower, Green Spaces, and Enhanced Infrastructure

Maharashtra Dy C M Eknath Shinde has announced a series of ambitious infrastructure and tourism projects for Thane, including India's tallest viewing tower at 260 meters along Thane Creek,. Trial runs for the Wadala–Thane–Kasarvadavali Metro-4 corridor and its extension to Gaimukh (Metro-4A) will begin on the Cadbury Junction–Gaimukh stretch, with passenger operations expected by the end of December. The 10.5 km stretch from Cadbury Junction to Gaimukh is nearing completion and is expected to open by the end of 2025. Once operational, Metro Line 4 will provide connectivity between the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai and Thane.
