Because the suburban railroad and Metro station are nearby, my daily life is quite comfortable as my travel to the IT parks is really quick. With clearly marked police patrolling and well-lit roads, I also feel very safe, which is a major benefit. The Guindy National Park just nearby is what I like the most. A bit of a green respite just outside the metropolis. The neighbourhood is welcoming, and all I need from hospitals to major shopping centres is readily available. The only area that could be better is the peak-hour traffic bottleneck, especially close to Kathipara Junction, which significantly slows down movement.

Personally I love staying in Guindy; the connectivity is excellent, in terms of the roads, railway, metro networks, etc. There is a well-developed system of social amenities, including nearby shopping centers, markets, schools, and hospitals. I also think we are lucky to stay so close to the Madras Race Club and the famous Guindy National Park. These are excellent in terms of ensuring more greenery for the neighborhood. The location is very central, in my opinion, and makes commuting a breeze in most cases. However, one thing that needs to be looked at, is the parking space availability. It is very difficult to find a proper parking slot when you are out in the area on weekdays.

Now, in this case, the SIDCO Industrial Estate is situated nearby, making Guindy a forever-preferred hub for those working in this zone. It was the same story for my father as well. And we have always benefited from easy access to the Chennai airport, which is only within 10-12 km from the place. One of our favourite childhood hangouts was the Guindy National Park. Guindy is a little away from the main buzz of Chennai, but that’s the way I like it. The Kathipara Junction is the main intersection, where you will find links to the Inner Ring Road, Anna Salai, and the GST Road. We have the railway station here (suburban line) and the metro station for the blue and green lines, while the international airport is only 10 km away. So, connectivity-wise, there are many benefits that I get from living here. Also, the SIDCO Industrial Estate is nearby, where I work, and the Guindy National Park is also the pride of the area. I have spotted many rare birds here, while the Snake Park is also another attraction for visitors, along with the Madras Race Club. Road maintenance and water supply shortages are two issues that need to be fixed; otherwise the area is pretty good to live in.

We desperately need the authorities to look into the old stormwater drainage system, as water stagnation is a common problem during the heavy monsoon months.

Guindy is a well-established locality in Chennai. I have lived here for several years, and I have never faced any connectivity problems. The metro station is a major connectivity hub on the Blue Line, and of course, the suburban railway network and major roads ensure good convenience as well. The Olympia Technology Park and the SIDCO Industrial Estate are both nearby, and in fact, most of the stretch is home to several industrial estates and factories. The Guindy-Mount Poonamallee High Road is where a large part of the development is occurring at present. I also love the Guindy National Park here for its lush greenery, while the Madras Race Club is a key attraction here as well. The only thing the authorities should improve is the congestion along the entire stretch.
