The high-density corridor (HDC) project on Kanakapura Road in South Bengaluru, aimed at creating a model urban corridor, is facing significant issues with patchy execution. Some stretches have intact footpaths and good carriageways, others suffer from broken, encroached, and garbage-filled footpaths, forcing pedestrians onto the road.

BDA Reclaims Encroached Land Across Bengaluru and Suburban Rail Link to Airport Gets Green Signal

BDA conducted demolition drives reclaiming encroached properties valued at over Rs 704.3 crore across South, North, and East Bengaluru, recovering more than 25 acres of land. These actions aim to free up land for public infrastructure and development projects. Indian Railways have agreed on a suburban rail link to the Airport (KIA). This project, part of the Majestic–Devanahalli corridor , includes an 8.5km airport spur with two stations and a 3.5km underground line within the KIA complex.
