Bengaluru to Get 40 km More Tunnel Roads and 44 km Double-Decker Roadway

Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project progresses across all four corridors

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that construction activity for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project is progressing steadily across all four corridors. Land acquisition is complete for two corridors :Baiyappanahalli–Chikkabanavara and Heelalige–Rajanukunte corridors, land acquisition has been completed, and station development is underway.

Kanakapura Road project faces execution issues

The high-density corridor (HDC) project on Kanakapura Road in South Bengaluru, aimed at creating a model urban corridor, is facing significant issues with patchy execution. Some stretches have intact footpaths and good carriageways, others suffer from broken, encroached, and garbage-filled footpaths, forcing pedestrians onto the road.

Bengaluru's civic groups have filed a petition with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) seeking the cancellation of the proposed Twin Tunnel Road project. They allege that the ₹19,000 crore project violates environmental clearances, is riddled with flaws, and contradicts the city's mobility plans.
