Let’s take a look at an example so that we can understand the house registration charges in Rajasthan a little better:

Example

Let us assume that Archana buys a property for ₹ 50 Lakhs. She is liable to pay 3% of the property value as stamp duty, along with 1% for property registration charges. 20% labor cess is also applicable on the stamp duty charges. So this is how her stamp duty calculation will look like.

Stamp duty: ₹ 50 Lakhs x 3% = ₹ 1.5 Lakhs

Registration Charges: ₹ 50 Lakhs x 1% = ₹ 50,000

Labour cess: ₹ 1.5 Lakhs x 20% = ₹ 30,000

Total: ₹ 2.30 Lakhs

Now let us assume that Archana had purchased a property worth 1 Crore. Then she has to pay 5% of the property value as property registration charges in Rajasthan. The stamp duty calculation will look something like this:

Stamp duty rates in Rajasthan: ₹ 1 Crore x 5% = ₹ 5 Lakhs

Stamp Duty Registration Charges in Rajasthan: ₹ 1 Crore x 1% = ₹ 1 Lakh

Labour Cess: ₹ 5 Lakhs x 20% = ₹ 1 Lakh

Total: ₹ 7 Lakhs
