NRIs can sell an inherited residential or commercial property in India to a resident Indian. In addition, NRIs can also sell it to other NRIs or a PIO with RBI approval. However, NRIs cannot sell any form of property to a foreigner. In addition, NRIs cannot sell inherited agricultural properties or farmhouses to anyone except resident Indians.
