MMRDA Plans Two New Ring Roads to Ease Mumbai Traffic

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is planning two additional ring routes, expanding its proposed network from seven to nine. These new corridors will cover approximately 307 km and will connect existing roads and planned projects across Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai.

A total of 4 residential transactions has been registered so far for Purandare Park, amounting to ₹ 5 Cr till August 2026.

Mega Blocks on Central and Transharbour Lines for Essential Railway Maintenance

Mumbai's suburban railway network will observe mega blocks on the Central and Transharbour Lines on June 28, 2026, to facilitate essential maintenance of tracks and signaling systems. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance as services on these lines may experience delays of approximately 15 minutes. Western and Harbour lines will operate as per schedule.

During Q2'2026, average property prices for Purandare Park moved from ₹ 32,250/sqft to ₹ 35,700/sqft, reflecting a 10.70% rise.

BMC Budget Includes ₹6,475 Crore for Water Security Projects

The BMC's FY26-27 budget includes a substantial allocation of ₹6,475 crore for water security initiatives. This funding is designated for projects such as the Manori desalination plant (₹500 crore) and the Gargai project (₹437.51 crore), aimed at augmenting the city's water supply capacity.

MMRDA Accelerates Atal Setu–Mumbai–Pune Expressway Link Project, Targeting February 2027 Completion

MMRDA has made significant progress on the 7.35 km Atal Setu–Mumbai–Pune Expressway connector. With foundation and girder works advancing, the project is on track for completion by February 2027. This will enable signal-free travel and faster connectivity between Mumbai and Pune.

Elphinstone Road Overbridge Dismantled for Infrastructure Upgrade

Mumbai's historic Elphinstone Road Overbridge, a 113-year-old British-era structure, has been dismantled. This move is part of infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving rail operations and commuter safety. The dismantling creates space for two additional suburban lines between Kurla and Parel, which will eventually extend to CSMT. A new double-decker ROB will replace the old structure.
