Mohammadwadi came under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the year 1997 and infrastructural bottlenecks are steadily being resolved in the area at present. There are several high end residential projects that are coming up in this suburban zone which is dotted with beautiful hills and lovely forests. Mohammadwadi is located in Pune’s south-eastern fringes and contains a whopping 200 acres of forests under the aegis of the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM). The area is bordered by Undri and Kondhwa and is steadily becoming a real estate hotspot. The area is home to several trees and also has a reserve forest zone. 46 acres of this reserve forest land have been transformed into a beautiful nature park which is named Anand Van. The name has been taken from Anand Mitra Mandal which is a leading NGO that works for conserving reserve forests in Mohammadwadi. There are 8 water tanks which have been built in several locations in the area. Several reputed real estate developers like the Raheja Group, Nyati Group, VT Palrecha, Jehangir Dorabjee, Acropolis Purple Construction, Marvel Realtors and the Clover Group have come up with premium housing projects in Mohammadwadi.
