Mohammadwadi came under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the year 1997 and infrastructural bottlenecks are steadily being resolved in the area at present. There are several high end residential projects that are coming up in this suburban zone which is dotted with beautiful hills and lovely forests. The name has been taken from Anand Mitra Mandal which is a leading NGO that works for conserving reserve forests in Mohammadwadi. There are 8 water tanks which have been built in several locations in the area.
