Having a swimming pool in your house or apartment is a blessing in India. While it is expensive to build a swimming pool, it provides much respite from the climate of India and is also seen as a status symbol. The cost of constructing a swimming pool has increased over the years due to rising cost of materials. The construction however, will depend upon the size and type of pool you want. A small concrete pool with tiling may cost around Rs 4 Lakhs, while a more luxurious pool with additional features could cost upwards of Rs 15-20 Lakhs. If you are low on budget, you can go for Vinyl Liner Pool that costs around Rs 1200-3500 per sq ft and a 24x12 ft pool can be constructed in Rs 6-10 lakh budget range. There is also a Fibreglass pool option. Typically, a fibreglass pool costs Rs 2000-3500 per sq ft. The average cost of the pool thus comes to Rs7-10 lakhs for a size of 24x12 ft. However, if you have a good budget and want a fancier pool, then Gunite pools are a perfect option. Gunite pools are made of various materials like quartz, tiles, glass and other finishes. The cost of such a pool will come to Rs 1400-3500 per sq ft. So, in total, a gunite pool along with a filtration system will cost upwards of Rs 10-20 lakhs for a 24x12 ft size.
