Avighna plans major project in Worli

Avighna Group, the noted real estate developer, is reportedly in discussions with HBS Realtors for inking an agreement for a mega project. This will be situated at Worli and is expected to be a Rs. 1,800 crore residential venture. The project will cover 3.4 acres and will be situated near Dr. Annie Besant Road. The development potential of the project is expected to be approximately 0.72 million sq. ft.

The company has already sold apartments to the tune of Rs. 350 crore at Avighna Estates, the project in Lower Parel, comprising of Avighna 9 and One Avighna Park. The project should fuse residential units with a few commercial and retail zones as well. This is expected to be one of the biggest such transactions in the South Mumbai property market over the last few years.

HSNC University to set up headquarters at Worli

The posh Worli locality will soon have another feather in its cap, namely the headquarters of the HSNC University. The college was shifted some years ago to Ulhasnagar and the new building is almost ready to welcome back the headquarters of the institution. It should commence operations from 2020-21 itself as per reports. A committee will soon be appointing the vice chancellor of the university which will be yet another addition to the plethora of reputed educational institutions in the area.

New infrastructure projects on the anvil

Rs. 31,430 crore has already been sanctioned by the authorities for several major infrastructure projects along with the expansion of the metro railway network. This will include the MTHL or Mumbai Trans-Harbor Link and Virar-Alibaug Multi-Modal Corridor. The 6-lane bridge will be linking Nhava Sheva and Sewri and the sea bridge will link Sewri to Worli which will naturally get a connectivity boost. It will also connect the Western Express Highway through the Bandra-Worli Sealink and the Coastal Road.

There will be two flyovers running from the Bandra-Worli Sealink to the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) which will reduce traveling time and congestion considerably. Several leading real estate developers have also proposed the development of direct access metro subways from their projects to the nearest Metro-III line stations. Companies like HBS, Indiabulls, Wadhwa, DB Realty, Oberoi and Raheja Corporation have already submitted bids to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited for this purpose. Subways have been proposed at multiple locations including Worli.
