Wakad is a developing area situated in Pune, Maharashtra and is close to the famous Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park at Hinjewadi. Wakad was once mostly known for its four-day Mhatoba Utsav, a traditional festival dating back to over 450 years honouring Mhatoba the village deity. The Nashik-Phata BRT corridor is in close proximity, and Pune Airport lies about 45 minutes away. It is also close to the clutch of biotech companies that are situated along the highway as well as manufacturing and industrial belts like Pimpri Chinchwad, Chakan, and Talegaon.
