Coimbatore Imposes Fines for civic Lapses; Pedestrian Bridge Planned for Lakshmi Mills Junction
The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has fined agencies a total of Rs 15 lakh for lapses in waste management and road restoration, including illegal garbage dumping in Sowripalayam and failure to properly restore roads in Masakalipalayam after pipeline installation. Separately, plans have been finalized for a pedestrian bridge with escalators at Lakshmi Mills Junction on Avinashi Road, a ₹2.5-crore public-private partnership project.
