Tamil Nadu has launched a Rs 1.5 lakh crore mission to improve urban infrastructure across the state, with Coimbatore being a key focus. The mission includes plans for drinking water, sewerage, solid waste management, roads, greening, waterbody restoration, and social infrastructure.

The state government has amended the Indian Stamp Act to streamline apartment registrations. A nominal stamp duty of Rs 50,000 will now be applicable for the transfer of common areas to the association of apartment owners, replacing the earlier provision that burdened buyers collectively.

The Coimbatore Corporation's proposed 2026-27 budget primarily features ongoing projects, such as the Noyyal river front development, bio-CNG initiatives, and waste-to-energy plants, including provisions for the completion of projects like the Ukkadam bus terminal and underground drainage works.

The Tamil Nadu government has renamed the Ukkadam–Athupalam flyover in Coimbatore in honor of Bharat Ratna awardee C. Subramaniam. Meanwhile , 32.40 km long, four-lane Coimbatore Western Bypass is expected to be operational by January 2026. And the Coimbatore Corporation has proposed establishing a ₹245-crore Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at Ukkadam to improve water supply quality.
