Railways Approves Key Infrastructure Projects to Ease Traffic in Northwest Delhi

The Indian Railways has approved two crucial infrastructure projects aimed at significantly reducing traffic congestion in Northwest Delhi. These include the widening of the Haiderpur-Badli rail overbridge and the construction of an elevated loop connecting Shalimar Bagh and Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. These projects are expected to ease traffic flow, around Mukarba Chowk.

Delhi Metro Magenta Line Extension: Geotechnical Survey Tender Issued

The Delhi government has issued a tender for a geotechnical survey for the proposed extension of the Magenta Line from RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha. The extension aims to improve connectivity to the Central Vista area and reduce congestion at Rajiv Chowk. The project is anticipated to provide a direct metro spine beneath the Central Vista redevelopment zone, enhancing public transport access.

The Delhi government will launch 75 new schemes and programs during the 'Seva Pakhwada' from September 17 to October 2 to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, including facilities for visually impaired students, intellectually disabled persons, and senior citizens. As part of 'Sewa Pakhwada', the Delhi government will enroll 50,000 new beneficiaries under the Old Age Pension Scheme and increase the pension allowance by Rs 500. Beneficiaries aged 60 years and above will receive Rs 2,500 per month, up from the earlier Rs 2,000, while those aged 70 years and above will get Rs 3,000 per month, up from Rs 2,500. SC/ST beneficiaries will receive an extra Rs 500 per month.
