The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has presented a Rs 7609 crore budget for 2026-27, which includes plans for a new headquarters and significant investments in core infrastructure such as water, drainage, and stormwater management. The budget also proposes the development of new sports complexes.

A crucial stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway between Godhra and Vadodara in Gujarat has been opened for trial use. This development is expected to significantly improve connectivity across Gujarat and beyond, and will eventually reduce travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to 12 hours upon full operationalization.

Vadodara is set to experience a significant boost in its infrastructure and tourism with several key projects underway. Sursagar Lake will be upgraded with a ₹40 crore investment, featuring an international fountain, 3D digital mapping, laser and light shows,Concurrently, a Heritage Square is being developed near Nyay Mandir as part of a larger ₹203 crore urban development plan.

CM Bhupendra Patel has approved ₹316.78 crore for the first phase of the Vadodara Ring Road, which will be 27.58 kilometers long and 45 meters wide, easing traffic to the Statue of Unity and Mumbai-Ahmedabad NH 8. Municipal plans to construct a new bridge over the Sama–Savli canal to reduce traffic on Sama–Savli Road, where another overbridge is already under construction.
