Land acquisition for the 18.11 km Mohali-Rajpura railway line has intensified, with GMADA officials hearing objections from farmers in villages like Saneta and Dhelpur. The project, estimated to cost ₹443 crore and expected to be completed by 2028, aims to improve rail connectivity in the region.

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has identified over ₹1,014 crore in outstanding dues from major real estate developers, including External Development Charges and license fees. This has led to a halt in fresh approvals for affected projects, raising concerns among homebuyers.

The Punjab Government has finalized the land acquisition process for the Mohali-Rajpura new railway line project. This paves the way for the formal commencement for the Rs 443-crore project, which aims to provide a direct rail link between Punjab's Malwa region and Chandigarh.

The Mohali Municipal Corporation has proposed a Rs 5 crore plan to strengthen the city's sanitation system by deploying additional manpower and hiring tractor-trolleys. The proposal, to be tabled in the House, aims to divide the city into four zones for better waste management.

The land acquisition process for vertical and horizontal road projects across 35 villages in the Mohali-Kharar region has been accelerated. Public hearings will commence from April 21, with the aim of boosting infrastructure, improving connectivity, and easing traffic congestion, thereby stimulating economic activity.

The newly operational Bharatmala corridor has significantly eased traffic pressure on Airport Road (PR-7) in Mohali, diverting heavy vehicles and reducing congestion. This corridor, costing around ₹1,400 crore, facilitates smoother traffic flow from Delhi towards Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
