The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is intensifying the execution of its smart city projects to meet impending deadlines under the national Smart Cities Mission. This includes advancements in integrated command and control systems, road infrastructure upgrades, and urban mobility initiatives.

Maha Metro has proposed a 58-km light metro rail network for Nashik, with an estimated cost of ₹14,520 crore. The plan involves two phases, aiming to address the city's growing transportation needs over the next two decades. Phase I will cover 35 km by 2036, and Phase II will add a 23-km corridor by 2046, including a connection to Nashik Airport.

Nashik is experiencing a significant redevelopment trend, with thousands of aging housing societies and apartment complexes slated for rebuilding in the next three to five years. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is simultaneously planning infrastructure upgrades, including strengthening water supply and sewerage systems.

MLA Mahesh Landge has directed officials to expedite land acquisition for the Pune-Nashik Highway widening and elevated corridor project. The ₹7,827 crore project includes a 30-km, eight-lane elevated corridor and widening of the existing highway. This initiative is expected to ease traffic congestion in Pimpri-Chinchwad region especially.

Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) corporators will have access to a Rs 100 crore fund for ward-level development works in the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27. This includes a proposed allocation of Rs 50 crore and a carry-forward of Rs 50 crore from the previous year.

Central Railway has initiated its largest-ever infrastructure upgrade program in Nashik to prepare for the Kumbh Mela 2027. The project involves redeveloping five key stations (Nashik Road, Deolali, Odha, Kherwadi, and Kasbe Sukene) with new foot overbridges, platform widening, covered sheds, and improved water supply systems.

Pune experienced heavy rainfall on July 5, 2026, leading to significant disruptions and infrastructure damage. In the last seven years, over 16,000 old properties in Nashik have been redeveloped. This trend indicates a significant push towards urban renewal and modernization of the city's housing stock, potentially leading to improved living conditions and increased property values in older areas.
