AP Government has approved Phase 1 of the City Roads Improvement Program (CRIP) for Vijayawada, allocating Rs 171.14 crore for the upgrade of 23.54 kilometers of priority urban corridors ,addressing issues like road re-laying, weak junctions, and waterlogging. Additionally, land acquisition issues in the villages of the Andhra Pradesh capital region are nearing completion, with legal complications cleared for Lanka (Delta) lands.

Vijayawada's real estate market shows a robust pipeline of new developments, with over 400 pre-launch and upcoming projects listed. These include residential apartments and villas across various localities, catering to different budget segments. The availability of new projects indicates continued growth and investment in the city's housing sector.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has approved a ₹7,380 crore loan from NABARD to accelerate core infrastructure development in Amaravati. This funding will support key institutional buildings, including the construction of Lok Bhavan (Governor's residence) for ₹169 crore and the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy for ₹165 crore.

Vijayawada is preparing for the 11-day 'Vijayawada Utsav' from September 22 to October 2, a cultural event promoted as the world's largest carnival, with 286 events planned. Preparations include flash mobs to showcase the city's culture, spirituality, and tourism. The Utsav aims to promote the city's culture, history, and tourism potential. The Utsav will unfold across four key venues: Punnami Ghat, Gollapudi Expo Grounds, Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, and Ghantasala Music College.
