The Maharashtra government has approved the development of a new Outer Ring Road around Nagpur, a project estimated to cost ₹7,474 crore. This initiative is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity across the Nagpur metropolitan region.

This plan, part of the Comprehensive Mobility Plan, aims to improve connectivity and support economic growth. The expansion includes a 5-km stretch beyond Butibori MIDC to serve industrial and residential areas, and a connection to New Nagpur, a planned greenfield city project.
