Central Railway (CR) has completed significant monsoon preparedness works across Mumbai's suburban network, including fixing six critical waterlogging-prone locations. Additionally, CR has begun replacing 12 non-AC suburban services with air-conditioned local trains, increasing the total number of AC services across the Mumbai Division to 120.

The MMRDA has begun the land acquisition process for the Mumbai-Vadhavan Expressway Corridor, a 120-km coastal route connecting South Mumbai to Vadhavan. A key component is the Uttan-Virar Sea Link, estimated at ₹87,400 crore. Over 100 hectares in Uttan village are identified for the project,.

CM announced that the Boisar railway station for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is slated for completion by December 2027. The project, which includes a station at Virar, is expected to boost economic development in the Palghar district & with a proposed extension of the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to this region,

MMRDA has presented a surplus budget of ₹48,072 crore, with 87% allocated to infrastructure projects, including roads, public transport, and urban development. A notable provision of ₹4,000 crore is earmarked for the development of Mumbai 3.0 New Town, aiming for planned urban expansion.

Western Railway and Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation have completed significant capacity augmentation works at Virar station. Platforms 3A and 4A have been widened and extended to handle 15-coach local trains, replacing the previous 12-coach capacity. A new platform, 5A, has also been constructed. This upgrade is expected to boost carrying capacity and improve commuter experience on the western corridor.
