Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd has prepared a draft Comprehensive Mobility Plan for Nashik, proposing a 58-km Mass Rapid Transit System with potential for a Light Metro system. The plan includes 131 km of pedestrian infrastructure, 88 km of dedicated cycle tracks, and multimodal transport hubs.

Central Railway has initiated its largest-ever infrastructure upgrade program in Nashik to prepare for the Kumbh Mela 2027. The project involves redeveloping five key stations (Nashik Road, Deolali, Odha, Kherwadi, and Kasbe Sukene) with new foot overbridges, platform widening, covered sheds, and improved water supply systems.

NMC has planned to establish 30 'safe school zones' near schools across the city to enhance student safety. These zones will focus on regulating vehicular movement, reducing traffic speed, and improving pedestrian infrastructure. The initiative aims to minimize accident risks and encourage safer commuting practices like walking and cycling for students.

NMC has mandated a 50:50 utilization of premium Floor Space Index (FSI) and Transferable Development Rights (TDR) to stimulate demand and expedite land acquisition processes. This policy aims to streamline development and potentially accelerate the pace of new construction projects.

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) requires approximately Rs 700 crore for the development of colony roads and roads in newly emerging areas. A detailed blueprint is being prepared for submission to the state government. This initiative aims to address the deteriorating condition of many colony roads and improve connectivity in developing zones, ensuring better urban infrastructure for residents.
