To bolster long-term water security amidst concerns of low reservoir levels and potential water cuts, Nagpur is considering a Rs 952.32 crore Kolar-Kanhan barrage on the Kanhan river in Kamptee taluka. The proposal, submitted to the Chief Minister, aims to create a substantial water storage facility.

The 119 km six-lane Outer Ring Road around Nagpur is progressing with Phase-1 targeting completion in 2027 and Phase-2 in 2029. This project, costing Rs 7,300 crore, aims to decongest Wardha Road and improve access to areas like Besa and Hingna. The ring road is a significant catalyst for plotted real estate development.

Phase-2 of the Nagpur Metro, adding 43.8 km of new lines across four corridors, remains a key infrastructure project for the city. With a total cost of Rs 6,706 crore and a target completion of 2028, civil work has commenced on three of the four reaches. This expansion is expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost property values in areas around the new stations.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari reviewed progress on key highway corridors, including the Gwalior–Nagpur and Nagpur–Hyderabad routes, and the six-laning of the Nagpur–Amravati highway. These projects are expected to streamline freight and passenger movement, bolster intra-regional connectivity, and support industrial expansion.
