A comprehensive masterplan for Varanasi outlines an integrated development spanning 575 acres, 400 crores rs seed capital from State , featuring three mega townships: Anand Kashi (250 acres) focused on heritage and lifestyle, Rudra Vihar (165 acres) for modern residential needs, and a 160-acre sports city in Ganjari near the international cricket stadium.

The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has approved a land swap deal involving over 227.5 bigha of land with the Defence Estate and Railways. This strategic move aims to facilitate crucial traffic, parking, and civic infrastructure projects across the city.
