Bhubaneswar Development Authority has released a draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for land parcel reconstitution under town planning schemes 42 to 45 in Zone IV. This aims to establish a transparent framework for equitable distribution of reconstituted plots, benefiting landowners. The SOP allows for voluntary amalgamation of plots and permits joint applications.

The state government has sanctioned Rs 30 crore for developing a modern drainage system near the Iskcon temple stretch of NH-16 to mitigate recurring waterlogging issues. This project, part of a larger Rs 50 crore allocation for city-wide drainage works, is expected to significantly address the long-standing problem of urban flooding during monsoons.
