Surat Metro Expansion and HSR Connectivity Boosted by Government Funding and Project Approvals
The Gujarat government has allocated ₹2,217 crore for metro projects, including the expansion of the Surat Metro network. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has proposed a 4.4 km elevated extension of Surat Metro Corridor II (Phase I) from Saroli to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (HSR) corridor.
