Chandigarh Notifies New Tenancy Rules for Transparency and Efficiency
The Union Territory of Chandigarh has notified the Tenancy Rules, 2026, which mandate online registration of tenancy agreements, issuance of Unique Identification Numbers (UINs), and a three-tier dispute resolution mechanism. These rules aim to bring transparency, accountability, and speed to the tenancy ecosystem, covering rent revision, recovery of possession, and dispute resolution.
