The Andhra Pradesh government has launched an AI-powered 'City Flood Alert' system in Vijayawada to predict urban waterlogging and flash floods. Developed with IIT Gandhinagar, the system provides 48-hour rainfall forecasts and identifies drainage risks.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, with police assistance, removed street vendors from Besant Road due to invalid licenses, following Andhra Pradesh High Court directives. Around 170 licenses were found invalid, while 90 were valid. The VMC offered relocation to designated Green Vending Zones.
