Vijayawada Central, Vijayawada

Vijayawada Central is an Assembly Constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. This is one of the 16 key constituencies in the State’s Krishna District and encompasses several urban areas in Vijayawada in addition to Wards 20-31, 14, 78, 77, 49, 33-35 and 42-44. Vijayawada is one of the major cities located in Andhra Pradesh and one of its biggest commercial areas as well. The city has already earned recognition from McKinsey for being a global city and its future development prospects. Vijayawada offers numerous attractions for tourists including the Gandhi Hill which is India’s first ever memorial to Mahatma Gandhi and the Kanaka Durga Temple. There are other landmarks like the River Museum or Krishnaveni Mandapam and the Bhavani Island. The city is also a part of the Central Government’s Solar/Green Cities mission which is helmed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
