Visakhapatnam is set to transform 35 major traffic intersections into 'Halt-Free Junctions' by October 2026, aiming to eliminate vehicle stops and ensure continuous traffic flow, thereby reducing congestion. This initiative is inspired by East Asian urban transport models and involves grade-separated infrastructure.

The AI-driven traffic management project, SARTHI (Systematic Augmented Radial Traffic and Hoop Induction), is slated to go live in Vizag within four to six months. With an estimated cost of ₹60 crore, funded by GVMC and VMRDA, the project will streamline traffic flow across 101 major junctions using advanced AI technologies.

GVMC has proposed the development of 47 new parks across Visakhapatnam,This initiative, with an estimated cost of Rs 22 crore, aims to increase green cover, improve public health, and reduce pollution by incorporating amenities such as walking tracks, open gyms, and rainwater harvesting pits.

AP Govt has approved the revised Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) Master Plan-2041. This comprehensive plan guides land use, transportation, economic growth, and infrastructure development, including proposals for a coastal corridor, Bay City project, Bhogapuram International Airport, and Aerocity.

The Andhra Pradesh Government has allocated an additional 25 acres to Sify Infinit Spaces for the second phase of its 500 MW hyperscale data center campus in Vizag. The Kaja East Lake Park in Kaja village has been inaugurated, developed at a cost of ₹3.3 crore using CSR funds. Spread over 17.18 acres, the park features a 1.7-km walking track, an open gym, a children's play area, and landscaped greenery.

As part of the ambitious Google Cloud India AI Hub project in Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh government has directed the APIIC to oversee the development of essential external infrastructure, including roads, power, and water supply. This initiative is crucial for the seamless execution of the data center project, which is expected to attract significant investments and boost the region's digital infrastructure.

GVMC is planning to increase the number of municipal wards from 98 to 120 to improve grassroots public representation in the rapidly growing city. This administrative exercise will restructure existing large wards into smaller,units, particularly in areas like Bheemunipatnam, Madhurawada, Pendurthi, and Anakapalli.
