The Andhra Pradesh Government has allocated an additional 25 acres to Sify Infinit Spaces for the second phase of its 500 MW hyperscale data center campus in Vizag. This expansion is part of Sify's significant investment and is expected to bolster cloud computing, AI, and digital services in the region.

Several new launch residential projects are being advertised in Vizag, including Rise Imperial Madhurawada, Vishwanadh Avenues V36 Pride in Pothinamallayya Palem, Sai Ashreya Layout in Anandapuram, and Vayuputra Sharada Enclave in Yendada. This indicates ongoing activity and investment in the real estate sector, with new housing options becoming available for residents.

The Kaja East Lake Park in Kaja village has been inaugurated, developed at a cost of ₹3.3 crore using CSR funds. Spread over 17.18 acres, the park features a 1.7-km walking track, an open gym, a children's play area, and landscaped greenery.

As part of the ambitious Google Cloud India AI Hub project in Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh government has directed the APIIC to oversee the development of essential external infrastructure, including roads, power, and water supply. This initiative is crucial for the seamless execution of the data center project, which is expected to attract significant investments and boost the region's digital infrastructure.

GVMC is planning to increase the number of municipal wards from 98 to 120 to improve grassroots public representation in the rapidly growing city. This administrative exercise will restructure existing large wards into smaller,units, particularly in areas like Bheemunipatnam, Madhurawada, Pendurthi, and Anakapalli.

Larson & Toubro (L&T) has allocated ₹100 billion for its data centre business under 'Lakshya 2031', aiming to create 200 MW of capacity across Vizag, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The focus will be on AI-ready infrastructure to cater to global hyperscalers and quantum computing organizations.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has received approval from Andhra Pradesh's State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) to establish a Rs 1,08,010 crore Data Centre project in Visakhapatnam. This facility will complement RIL's AI data centre in Jamnagar, creating a powerful AI infrastructure network in Asia. To power this, Reliance will also develop a 6 GW solar power project in Andhra Pradesh.

Vizag is set to become a major data center hub with significant investments in digital infrastructure. A tax holiday for data centers until 2047 is expected to boost Visakhapatnam's development, attracting foreign investment and strengthening the region's digital infrastructure. India is investing in new infrastructure, including an $11 billion project in Vizag to establish a 1GW data center hub by 2030.

Visakhapatnam's residential real estate sector is expected to grow by 6-10% in 2026, driven by projects like the Google Data Centre and the Arcelor Mittal steel plant, creating employment opportunities and boosting property investment demand. VMRDA plans to develop approximately 25,000 housing plots for middle-income families by 2026 to increase affordable residential land availability and support structured urban growth.
