The central government has approved a survey for the proposed regional ring rail around Hyderabad, a significant step towards improving transport connectivity between districts and neighboring states. This project, likely to run along the Regional Ring Road, is expected to boost regional economic development and is being finalized in consultation with the Telangana government.

The Outer Ring Rail (ORRail) project, proposed along the Regional Ring Road (RRR), has seen its estimated cost double to nearly ₹24,000 crore. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that the tender process for the northern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) will begin within two months,. The 161.5-km stretch will pass through Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir, and Choutuppal.
