Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath announced a coordinated action plan to address urban issues, ahead of the formation of the Greater Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. .While , Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed that three major canals be aesthetically developed and mini Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) established at underground drainage convergence points.

AP Government has approved Phase 1 of the City Roads Improvement Program (CRIP) for Vijayawada, allocating Rs 171.14 crore for the upgrade of 23.54 kilometers of priority urban corridors ,addressing issues like road re-laying, weak junctions, and waterlogging. Additionally, land acquisition issues in the villages of the Andhra Pradesh capital region are nearing completion, with legal complications cleared for Lanka (Delta) lands.

Vijayawada's real estate market shows a robust pipeline of new developments, with over 400 pre-launch and upcoming projects listed. These include residential apartments and villas across various localities, catering to different budget segments. The availability of new projects indicates continued growth and investment in the city's housing sector.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has approved a ₹7,380 crore loan from NABARD to accelerate core infrastructure development in Amaravati. This funding will support key institutional buildings, including the construction of Lok Bhavan (Governor's residence) for ₹169 crore and the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy for ₹165 crore.
