After a seven-year delay, the Tribune Chowk flyover project is set to move forward with the UT engineering department awarding the contract. Construction is expected to start by the end of April and take two years to complete. The 1.6-km flyover aims to significantly ease heavy traffic congestion at Tribune Chowk, which handles over 1.43 lakh vehicles daily.

The Chief Engineer of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation inspected ongoing infrastructure works in the Transport Area, Sector 26. The sewerage upgrade is nearly 95% complete and expected to finish by April 15, resolving frequent blockages for shopkeepers and transport operators. Work on upgrading the storm water drainage system is set to begin on April 6 and will be completed within a month.
