The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is planning to invest an additional Rs 900 crore in cement road projects, despite having already spent over Rs 1,040 crore on such initiatives. The effectiveness of Nagpur's 'smart drainage project' is being questioned after Padole Chowk experienced severe waterlogging again.

The Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (MRIDC) has completed two significant infrastructure projects in Nagpur: a Road Over Bridge at Level Crossing No. 73 (Dipti Signal) and a Road Under Bridge connecting Dipti Signal to Shantinagar and Lakadganj. Additionally, MRIDC has proposed seven new flyovers and junction improvements across the city.

The NMC has approved a budget of Rs 6,202.99 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27. The budget, passed after extensive debate, focuses on infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and revenue enhancement without increasing property taxes.

NMC is set to open financial bids for 534.89km of sewerage network works as part of the Rs 1,926.99-crore Nag River Pollution Abatement Project.
