Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) plans to demolish 2,400 dilapidated quarters in Bhopal. This action is aimed at improving living conditions and safety for residents, and will likely lead to the redevelopment of these areas, potentially creating new housing opportunities or public spaces.

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to cease its reliance on groundwater, decommissioning 111 tube wells to ensure an uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water from surface sources like the Narmada River and various dams.

Housing units constructed by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) are reportedly showing signs of poor construction quality, with cracks, dampness, and peeling plaster appearing within a year of allotment. Residents have also reported that some basic facilities remain incomplete.

The Madhya Pradesh budget has allocated funding for 18 roads in Bhopal, emphasizing urban infrastructure development. The allocation is part of a broader urban development package and is expected to enhance last-mile connectivity and encourage economic activity along transit corridors.
