Athgaon ROB to Close for Repairs, Traffic Diversions Announced
The Athgaon Railway Over Bridge (ROB) in Guwahati will be closed for repair and restoration work from June 27 to June 29, 2026. The Guwahati Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions to manage the flow during this period, advising commuters to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

Guwahati to Implement Green Public Transport and EV Incentives
The Guwahati Municipal Corporation is set to transition to a fully green public transport system within the next 12 months . The Transport department will also introduce incentives for the public to purchase electric vehicles and establish charging infrastructure across the state.

Guwahati Airport's New Terminal Set to Open, Ring Road Project Gains Momentum
The new, Rs 4,000-crore terminal building at Guwahati airport will become operational from February 22, 2026, with domestic and international flights expected to operate from the new terminal by March, and the old terminal to be repurposed as a cargo hub. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has also signed a concession agreement worth Rs 7,000 crore for the development of the 121-km Guwahati Ring Road.
