The Guwahati Municipal Corporation is set to transition to a fully green public transport system within the next 12 months . The Transport department will also introduce incentives for the public to purchase electric vehicles and establish charging infrastructure across the state.

Nexus Select Trust is reportedly in advanced discussions to acquire a substantial mixed-use property in Guwahati for approximately ₹1,300 crore. The under-construction asset, spanning 1.2 million sq ft, comprises retail, hotel, and office spaces. The Kopili Hydro Electric Project is expected to be completed within the next 10 days, generating 150 megawatts of electricity, with an additional 25 MW capacity undergoing repair. Meanwhile, the 2000MW Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project (SLHEP), India's largest hydroelectric power station, is scheduled to be fully operational by May 2026.
