The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has presented its highest-ever draft budget of Rs 17,018 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27. The budget prioritizes infrastructure, and sports facilities, in preparation for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Key allocations include Rs 1,000 crore for elevated corridors and Rs 8,247 crore for sustainable and climate-resilient projects.

Ahmedabad's real estate market is experiencing a boom in 2026, driven by robust infrastructure, a thriving economy, and an improving lifestyle. Areas like SG Highway, South Bopal, and Shela are attracting significant developer and buyer interest. Property prices in premium zones are seeing annual appreciation of 15-22%, while affordable segments are growing at 10-12%.

Housing sales in Ahmedabad saw a 2% increase in 2025, reaching 18,752 units, while average property prices grew by 3% to Rs 3,197 per sq ft. This indicates a stable and growing real estate market in the city, driven by sustained demand and moderate price appreciation. The growth is expected to continue, making homeownership attainable.

A Collier's report indicates that Ahmedabad and Hyderabad have emerged as the most affordable real estate markets among India's Tier-1 cities, based on improved Price-to-Income (P/I) ratios. This affordability, coupled with a favorable job market, expanding metro connectivity, and ongoing infrastructure upgrades, is contributing to Hyderabad's growing appeal among mid-income homebuyers and investors, potentially driving further real estate development.
