The 49.5 km Kochi Outer Ring Road (ORR) connecting Angamaly and Aroor has accelerated with the Centre appointing an authority for land acquisition. The project, implemented by NHAI at a cost of ₹69.356 billion, will involve acquiring 363.73 hectares across 20 villages.
A delegation from the Kochi Corporation,, has submitted a list of nine priority projects to CM. These projects are transport development (Thammanam–Pullepady Road, Goshree–Mamangalam Road with a new bridge, Palluruthy 40 Feet Road, Atlantis RoB, Mattancherry Halt RoB), a drinking water project for western Kochi, an integrated waste management and waste-to-energy project, and Vembanad Lake rejuvenation.
