The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has ramped up large-scale desilting of key canals, including Budameru, Ryves, Eluru, and Bandar canals, to prevent mosquito breeding and improve urban hygiene. Operations involve manual labor, tipper trucks, JCBs, and specialized machinery to ensure uninterrupted flow, especially before the monsoon season.

Several new residential projects have been launched in Vijayawada, offering a range of housing options, including Shanmukha Diamond Valley, Sri Bhramara Apex Heights, and Dharani Mythri Grande. The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) in Andhra Pradesh, including Vijayawada, is being strictly implemented, leading to increased transparency and buyer confidence.

AP Government has approved Phase 1 of the City Roads Improvement Program (CRIP) for Vijayawada, allocating Rs 171.14 crore for the upgrade of 23.54 kilometers of priority urban corridors ,addressing issues like road re-laying, weak junctions, and waterlogging. Additionally, land acquisition issues in the villages of the Andhra Pradesh capital region are nearing completion, with legal complications cleared for Lanka (Delta) lands.
