Vijayawada East, Vijayawada

Vijayawada East is a well-known Assembly Constituency for the Legislative Assembly in Andhra Pradesh and is one out of the 16 constituencies of the Krishna District in the State. Vijayawada East comprises of areas like Vijayawada urban, urban Mandal and the Wards 36-41, 32, 45-48 and 50-74. Vijayawada is one of the top cities in Andhra Pradesh and also its commercial hub. Vijayawada is referred to as a Global City of the Future as per a McKinsey report and should witness an increase in overall GDP to a whopping $17 billion by the year 2025. There are several landmarks in Vijayawada East such as the Gandhi Hill, Krishnaveni Mandapam, Prakasham Barrage, Kanaka Durga Temple, Bhavani Island and others. Vijayawada has already taken smart steps towards promoting environment friendly transportation including e-rickshaws and CNG auto-rickshaws. The city is also covered as part of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Solar/Green Cities scheme.
