The Maharashtra Government has approved the extension of Nagpur Metro Phase II from Kanhan River (Kamptee) to Kanhan town. This 1.40-km elevated corridor with one new station is estimated to cost Rs 310.35 crore and is targeted for completion by December 2027.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a €240 million loan to extend the Nagpur metro network, part of a larger €289.5 million financing for sustainable metro growth in India. This investment is expected to reduce transport-related carbon emissions by approximately 22% in Nagpur and increase daily ridership to around 190,000 passengers by 2041.
The Kamptee-Koradi-Kanhan region is set for significant development with various infrastructure projects. These include a ten-storey commercial mall, a flyover from Naka Koradi to Bokhara railway crossing, Metro track beautification, and a proposed ropeway from Koradi Mahadev Temple. Reports are also being prepared for the Uppalwadi underpass and Outer Ring Road projects.
