The Telangana government is developing a 150-acre Mega Bus Terminal near Shamshabad to create an integrated transport hub. This facility aims to accommodate increasing bus traffic, reduce the entry of heavy diesel buses into the city, minimize pollution, and ease traffic congestion in central Hyderabad. This terminal, will be located in Bahadurguda village near RGIA.

The Central Government has given its approval for Hyderabad Metro Phase 2, which will connect the airport and the Old City. This expansion is expected to significantly improve connectivity to areas like Shamshabad and the Old City, potentially boosting real estate values and easing travel for residents and tourists.

Traffic on Hyderabad's 158-km Jawaharlal Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) has surged, leading to record toll collections in February 2026. The expressway is now handling approximately 1.6 lakh vehicles daily.The surge in traffic and toll revenue highlights the ORR's crucial role in easing congestion and facilitating movement around Hyderabad, with annual toll revenue estimated at ₹840 crore.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao reviewed the progress of various infrastructure works undertaken by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC). Key projects discussed include the Industrial Smart City at Zaheerabad, Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, Mega Industrial Hubs, Pharma Clusters, and Bharat Future City.

The Shastripuram road-over-bridge (ROB) in Hyderabad's Old City is completed and set to open soon, . This 490-meter project, costing ₹71 crore, aims to eliminate traffic bottlenecks caused by the railway level crossing at Uddamgadda. will improve travel times for residents of Shastripuram, Vattepally, Kattedan, Bandlaguda, Chandrayangutta,and Shamshabad road.

The state government is progressing with plans to extend the Hyderabad Metro Rail network around the Outer Ring Road (ORR), creating a comprehensive peripheral transit link. This expansion, part of Phase II covering 163 km across eight corridors,ease traffic congestion by restricting vehicles entering the city from national highways. Several villages along the ORR are slated to benefit from improved public transport.

The Telangana government has introduced the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP) to convert industrial land within and near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) into integrated urban spaces. This policy allows for the development of apartments, townships, commercial centers, schools, hospitals, and parks. A development impact fee will be levied on plot conversion.

South Central Railway (SCR) has proposed the construction of three new railway terminals in and around Hyderabad, located at Nagulapalli, Dabeerpura, and Jukkal near Shamshabad. Each terminal will feature 14-20 platforms and modern passenger facilities, aiming to reduce pressure on existing stations such as Secunderabad, Kacheguda, and Nampally, improve train scheduling, minimize delays.
